Question 1

What is Mayson?

Accepted Answer

Mayson is a full-stack AI agent. Describe your app in a chat and Mayson builds the whole thing: frontend, backend, database, auth, payments and APIs, connected and live. You prompt, preview, edit and deploy from one place.

Question 2

Do I need to know how to code?

Accepted Answer

No. If you can explain who your app is for, what they do in it and what it needs to remember, you can build with Mayson. It's product thinking, not programming.

Question 3

How do I start building?

Accepted Answer

Go to mayson.dev and describe your app in the prompt box. You can start typing before you sign in. Sign in to attach files, docs or images.

Question 4

How do I write a good first prompt?

Accepted Answer

Tell Mayson who uses the app, what each type of user can do, what data it stores and the one thing it must do well. 'Build me a task manager' gets you a generic task manager. 'A task manager where freelance designers log hours against client projects and send a weekly invoice' gets you your product.

Question 5

Can I change my app after the first build?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as often as you like. Describe the change in plain words, like 'add a status field with three options', and Mayson updates that part of the app. Your first build is a starting point, so keep shaping it.

Question 6

How long does a first app take?

Accepted Answer

Minutes for a first working version, and your idea can be live the same day. A task manager with sign-in, a database and Stripe payments takes around half an hour. Turning it into a polished product is up to how far you want to take it.

Question 7

How is Mayson different from Lovable, Bolt or Replit Agent?

Accepted Answer

Most AI builders generate a frontend and plug it into a separate managed backend. Mayson writes the backend, database and APIs as real code inside your own project, alongside the frontend. You get one connected app that you own, not a UI wired to someone else's service.

Question 8

What does Mayson build in one go?

Accepted Answer

A complete, connected app: frontend, backend, APIs, a real database and auth, deployed to a live URL. Need payments? Ask for them in your prompt.

Question 9

Is the backend real, or just a mock?

Accepted Answer

It's real. Your data is stored in a real database, sign-in actually checks passwords, and everything persists when you close the browser. Try it on your own app: sign up, add data, close the tab, come back and sign in.

Question 10

What can I build in a weekend?

Accepted Answer

A booking tool, a simple marketplace, an internal tracker or a small subscription product, complete with a database, user accounts and payments. Apps with one core action and one or two user roles come together fastest.

Question 11

Can Mayson handle payments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Payments run through Stripe, so real money moves through a real payment system. Test your flow in Stripe's test mode, then switch to live mode and run one real transaction before you launch.

Question 12

Can Mayson build a marketplace?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mayson builds the multi-sided data and backend logic a marketplace needs, like buyers, sellers, listings and orders. Plan for the parts every marketplace has to decide for itself, such as trust and safety rules and payment compliance like split payouts or KYC.

Question 13

Can my app accept file uploads?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mayson handles images, PDFs, audio and documents natively and sets up storage for you. There are no buckets to configure.

Question 14

When should I bring in a developer?

Accepted Answer

When your app holds sensitive data, handles heavy traffic or needs enterprise-grade permissions across many roles, have a developer review it before launch. Because Mayson gives you real code, they can pick it up straight away.

Question 15

Can I see apps other people built?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Scroll to 'See what people share' on the home page, or read Build of the Week on our blog. Every app there is live on a mayson.app address.

Question 16

How do credits work?

Accepted Answer

Building, adding features and chatting with the agent use credits. Bigger changes use more. Each plan comes with a monthly allowance, listed on the pricing page.

Question 17

How much does Mayson cost?

Accepted Answer

There are three plans: Go, Pro and Enterprise. Go and Pro are billed every 30 days, and Enterprise is priced for your company. See current prices on the pricing page.

Question 18

How many credits do I get?

Accepted Answer

Every paid plan includes a monthly credit allowance, plus a small daily bonus on Go and Pro. The exact numbers are on the pricing page.

Question 19

What is the pre-launch offer?

Accepted Answer

While we're in pre-launch, Go and Pro are available at a lower price. The pricing page shows the offer next to the regular price.

Question 20

Can I buy more credits if I run out?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Top up on demand whenever you need more. Top-ups come with Go and every plan above it.

Question 21

Is Mayson cheaper than hiring a freelancer?

Accepted Answer

For getting a first version live, yes, by a wide margin, and it's far faster. Many founders build on Mayson first and hire later for specific pieces, like custom design or a bespoke integration.

Question 22

What is the difference between Go and Pro?

Accepted Answer

Go gives you 5 live apps, full code access, a custom domain, badge removal and priority support. Pro adds unlimited live apps, unlimited Mayson domains, backend backups, dedicated support and more monthly credits. Both include unlimited databases. Compare them on the pricing page.

Question 23

Can I remove the 'Build with Mayson' badge?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Badge removal comes with Go and every plan above it.

Question 24

What does Enterprise include?

Accepted Answer

Everything in Pro, plus volume pricing, audit logs, internal publish, scheduled deep security scans, sensitive data detection and control, a custom SLA and a dedicated FDE. Pricing is based on company size and covers all your employees. Schedule a call to get started.

Question 25

I was gifted Pro access. How long does it last?

Accepted Answer

One month. After that, keep Pro on a paid plan or switch to the plan that suits you.

Question 26

Do I own the code Mayson generates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The code is yours. Full code access comes with Go and every plan above it.

Question 27

Can I export my code?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every app is real frontend and backend code with no hidden dependencies. Export it and run it wherever you want.

Question 28

Can a developer take over my app later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your database, auth and APIs are all code in a project you own, so a developer can open it and extend it, for example by adding a new endpoint or a background job. You hand them a codebase, not a login.

Question 29

Am I locked into Mayson?

Accepted Answer

No. You own a real codebase, so you can take it with you. Moving still means setting up your own hosting and testing it there.

Question 30

Does Mayson host my app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Deployment is part of the build. Mayson sets up the database, auth and backend and gives you a live URL. There are no servers to configure.

Question 31

What URL will my app get?

Accepted Answer

Your app goes live on a mayson.app address, like sonicscribe.mayson.app, in one click.

Question 32

Can I use my own domain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Custom domains come with Go and every plan above it. Pro also gives you unlimited Mayson domains.

Question 33

Can I choose where my data is hosted?

Accepted Answer

Mayson handles deployment for you. If you have data residency or compliance requirements, email support@mayson.dev before you launch and we'll help you plan for them.

Question 34

Can my app handle real traffic?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mayson apps are built to handle real traffic from day one, so you don't have to rebuild when your user count climbs.

Question 35

Are my backends backed up?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on Pro. Backend backups come with Pro and Enterprise.

Question 36

How do I get my app ready for launch?

Accepted Answer

Run through the basics: test sign-in, check that two accounts can't see each other's data, and keep keys in environment variables. If you'll hold sensitive data or take payments at scale, get a security review too.

Question 37

Can I build fintech or healthtech apps?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can build them on Mayson. Regulated industries come with their own compliance rules, so plan for a compliance review before you launch. You stay responsible for the data your app stores.

Question 38

What data does Mayson collect?

Accepted Answer

Your account details, like name and email, usage data, like logs, IP address and browser type, and the project data from what you build. We use project data to run the platform and support you. Read the Privacy Policy.

Question 39

Does Mayson sell my data?

Accepted Answer

No. We never sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Mayson, or when the law requires it.

Question 40

Does Mayson use cookies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use cookies to understand how Mayson is used, personalise content and show relevant ads. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

What security does Enterprise add?

Accepted Answer

Audit logs, scheduled deep security scans, sensitive data detection and control, and a custom SLA.

Question 45

Is Mayson right for everyone?

Accepted Answer

No, and we'll tell you when it isn't. Take the Don't use this quiz and we'll point you to a better tool if there is one. If you're a developer who wants to write the code yourself, for example, we'll point you to Claude Code.

Question 46

How can I get my app featured?

Accepted Answer

Email support@mayson.dev with a link to your app. We feature community builds in our Build of the Week series.
